IEC working group on a technical specification for “conductors for overhead lines – Fiber reinforced composite core used as supporting member material”.
IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) TC7 face to face meetings took place recently in Paris.
Epsilon Composite Cable is proud to participate actively with others manufacturers and utilities to the 62818 working group to create a new technical specification for “conductors for overhead lines – Fiber reinforced composite core used as supporting member material”.
IEC standards are critical to help provide quality products for utilities.
Composite cores for bare overhead conductors have been in use for more than 20 years and deserve such an IEC document to facilitate a more widespread adoption. We look forward to its release!
