The project re-conductored a key segment of the transmission grid around the City of Johannesburg and the increased ampacity of the HVCRC® Conductor provides City Power Johannesburg with a solution for a critical congestion problem in the Johannesburg Grid.
Project installed by Edison Power Group, a leading turn-key contractor in Africa.
High Ampacity Low Sag HVCRC® conductor was used as a replacement of conventional conductors and strung on the existing towers thereby resolving the difficult Right of Way problem African utilities face.
This project demonstrated that HVCRC® Smart Conductor provides many advantages for construction of South Africa’s Smart Grid and supports the concept of a modern more efficient transmission grid.
