KEPCO Electric Power Research Institute (President Kim Dong-seop) conducted a comprehensive evaluation of reliability and constructability prior to the introduction of a new capacity-increasing new material cable that is cheaper than the existing increased-capacity cable and can double the transmission capacity. A real system empirical study on a 154kV commercial line in Seogochang was conducted, selecting 3 HTLS cable technologies, including HVCRC®.
The line was placed into service for KEPCO in South Korea on May 31, 2014.
