First advanced reconductoring project in Montenegro.
This 110kV line connects the Perućica hydro power plant to the capital city of Montenegro, Podgorica. The HVCRC® reconductoring will not only extend the life of this solviet-era power line but also double its capacity, while reducing electrical losses and solving sag issues.
The conductor was stranded by Nexans, and installed with Tesmec machines and Dervaux (Sicame Group) fittings by Elnos Group.
In the video below, Elnos Group’ site manager Luka Šaranović shares his feedback on this HVCRC® conductor installation in a very difficult rocky landscape.
Year: 2024
Customer: CGES – CRNOGORSKI Elektroprenosni Sistem
Location: Perućica – Podgorica, Montenegro
Voltage: 110kV
Conductor length: >100km
Old Conductor: ACSR
New Conductor: HVCRC 190-28 (Rovinj size)
Results:
– Doubled ampacity with existing structures
– Reduced losses at same ampacity
– Old and damaged line secured with a new conductor
